| just kidding. and i appreciate your input on this. i'm not bashing amsoil, if i were convinced it were superior to other oils, i would run it - regardless of cost. unfortunately, the UOAs that i have seen don't seem to indicate it's any better than average. "It's not all about wear protection...." i disagree, the main job of an oil is to lubricate and protect. "and honestly even if it did have average wear protection, as long as it keeps it for the entire duration of it's guaranteed interval, it's doing it's job." not sure what you mean by "it's doing its job, even if it did have average wear protection." did you know mobil 1 extended performance also guarantees for 15,000-mile intervals? "Did you know most engine wear occurs at start up when there isn't any oil flowing through the engine?" yes, that's for EVERY oil, it's a moot point. "Did you know that over time the blow by gases that combine with the oil will make the oil acidic and did you also know that Amsoil has more ingredients that are meant to neutralize those acids than average-which allows for those extended drain intervals." that's also the same for every oil, and please back up your statement that amsoil has more ingredients (additives) - VOAs (virgin oil analyses) would work well. the fact is, mobil 1 is factory fill for: •Acura RDX •Aston Martin •Bentley •Chevrolet Corvette Z06, ZR1 •Lexus LFA •McLaren MP4-12C •Mercedes-Benz AMG Vehicles •Nissan GT-R •All Porsche Vehicles that's pretty good. (i don't work for exxon mobil)
